CHOQUEQUIRAO

DESCRIPTION

In this trek, you can see temples of the sun and of the earth, real residences, sleeping rooms for Mitimaes (inka word - family(ies) of colons or baned from a city) and residences for farmers. You can also find here one of the most profound canyons of the world: Canyon del Apurimac.

 

Day 1.- CUSCO/CACHORA/CHIQUISQA:

We will leave Cusco early. From this town we’ll be able to observe the peeks of the Padreayoc with an altitude of (5,482m). the trek for the first day is of 21.71Km in the way we’ll be able to observe some of the peeks like the one from Padrayoc, and Wayna Cachora, besides we’ll see the changes in the landscape from glaciers to beautiful land marks.  After lunch we will be descending through a sector called Chiquisca, in the way we’ll be able to observe the canyon of the Apurimac, here we will set up our camp and have dinner.

 

Day 2.- CHIQUISQA/CHOQUEQUIRAO:

After a healthy breakfast, we’ll continue our trek descending until we reach Rosalina beach at an altitude of 1,500m. Then will cross the bridge and will start to ascend until we reach the next point Santa Rosa; after a brief rest will continue to ascend to Marampata (place to have lunch)
From this point will have an excellent panoramic view of Choquequirao and the canyon of the Apurimac with all its beauty characteristics. Camp and Dinner.

 

DAY 3.- CHOQUEQUIRAO/CHIQUISQA:

Very early we will visit again the archeological rest to known with more detail the importance of every single sector of the ruins, besides is also known to see the flight of the condor and the sunset. After this will return to our base camp to have breakfast, then will set up our equipment to return to the same trekking path observing the variety of flora and fauna, and again passing by Marampata, Santa Rosa (place to have lunch), Rosalina Beach and finally arriving to Chiquisca place where will set up camp and have dinner.

DAY 4.- CHIQUISQA/CACHORA/CUSCO:

regreso-a-cusco-de-choquequirao-chokequirao-chokekiraoEarly after having breakfast, we’ll continue our trek to the district of Cachora, in the way we’ll appreciate once again the peeks cover with snow of the majestic Padrayoc and the Apurimac Canyon. Here we’ll stop to have lunch in the Capuliyoc viewpoint, continuing with out trek we’ll arrive to the district of Cachora, here we’ll have our bus to return to Cusco.
