Introduction:

This option is perfect for those who don’t have much time to visit Machu Picchu and who want to arrive in a more leisurely fashion than the trekkers.
The train departs from Cusco and takes you on one of the most incredible train journeys to reach the magnificent site of Machu Picchu!!
The views from the train are quite spectacular. Peru Rail have commissioned Vistadome or backpacker trains to allow you to enjoy the view to it’s full potential.

ITINERARY:

Day 1:

In the morning, we will pick you up from your Hotel and take you to the train station. After a 4-hour journey of majestic views you arrive at Aguas Calientes (Hot Springs Town) where you will spend the night. There will be plenty of time to relax if you want to have a hot bath in the natural springs. The day is yours!
Optional:
Visit the Machu Picchu ‘Manuel Chavez Ballón’ museum and orchid exhibition. It is a very illustrative museum that gives an interesting introduction to Machu Picchu.
You could go to the thermal baths.

Day 2:

inti-watana-cusco-machupicchu You will have breakfast and then your Guide will pick you up from your hotel. You will take the bus up to majestic Machu Picchu and then begin your walking tour (approximately 2 hours) with your guide, after this you can explore the mysterious city by yourselves.

Optional:

Walk up to the Sun Gate (2 hours Aprox.)
Walk to the Inca Bridge (1 hour Aprox.)
Please leave enough time to catch your train. It is a 20-minute bus ride from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes and buses leave when they are full. It is also necessary to be at the train station in good time (20 minutes before).
If you want to have lunch down in the town, we advise leaving Machu Picchu. Your train usually leaves at 5pm and you will arrive in Cusco at approximately 9pm. We will pick you up from the Ollantaytambo´s train station and take you back to your hotel in Cusco.
